Within the framework of social dialogue, and in accordance with management’s guidelines, this position negotiates, interprets, and monitors the implementation of the sector’s collective bargaining agreement, ensuring effective relations with labor unions.
It systematically monitors, at both the national and EU levels, developments in labor legislation, with a particular focus on the Labour Code and its implementing regulations, as well as other regulations affecting the sector, assessing their practical effects and promoting the continuous updating of information among member companies.
The URSL is also responsible, notably through the organization of thematic meetings with the participation of human resources managers, for identifying and articulating the sector’s concerns, while promoting initiatives aimed at creating or amending relevant legal frameworks in the social and labor sphere.
At the institutional level, the Unit ensures the representation of the sector’s social and labour interests before public and private entities, notably the CIP – Confederation of Portuguese Enterprises – by participating in legal and labor committees and collaborating in the drafting and revision of legislation.
