ANIMEE visits the Tyco Electronics / TE Connectivity factory in Évora

ANIMEE recently visited the Tyco Electronics facility in Évora – a unit that is part of the TE Connectivity group, a Swiss multinational operating in approximately 140 countries.
Currently employing more than 1,600 people, the facility is part of TE Connectivity’s Industrial Solutions segment—one of the company’s two major business segments, alongside Transportation Solutions—with the Energy and Digital Data Networks (DDN) sectors showing the strongest growth over the past four years, driven by the expansion of data centers and the corresponding energy needs.
The Évora plant’s main customer is the automotive industry, with connectors, relays, and sensors standing out among the products manufactured. In addition, the plant follows the Group’s trend of specializing in processes, having distinguished itself through its plating line (contact coating) and by producing certain specific tools in-house.
Also noteworthy is the plant’s commitment to sustainability, which has significantly reduced its environmental footprint over the past four years.
Its exports are evenly distributed across the three major global markets – EMEA, the Americas, and APAC – and the facility also contributes a significant volume of sales and purchases within the Group.
