Founded in 1981 by ANIMEE, EDP, and CTT, the IEP now looks back on a 45-year history, during which it has successfully fulfilled its mission of becoming a leader in technological support, particularly for companies in the electrical and electronics sectors.

With a strong commitment to innovation and knowledge transfer, the IEP is at the forefront of the technological challenges that define the present and shape the future. It is in this context that the conference “Portugal’s Major Strategic Challenges” will take place on September 30 at Casa da Música.

The event will bring together experts, decision-makers, and leaders from various sectors to discuss issues critical to the country’s future and competitiveness, focusing on three major areas: Defense and Strategic Autonomy, the Electricity Grid of the Future, and Portugal as a Global Hub for Communications, Data, and Innovation.

Among the confirmed speakers are Pedro Siza Vieira, the conference’s keynote speaker, and representatives from idD Portugal Defence, CCDR-Norte, EID, Instituto Superior Técnico, INESC TEC, E-REDES, AI2, MEO, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Portugal, among other organizations.
